Special Branch plays a key role in protecting the public from national security threats, especially terrorism and other extremist activity. Its responsibilities include the acquisition and development of intelligence through various methods, the monitoring of travellers at Gibraltar’s various points of entry, surveying of critical infrastructure and delivering protective security advice.
The unit conducts its work in partnership with various local partners as well as with a variety of regional and international stakeholders from across the law enforcement and intelligence services community.
