57 year old Kenneth Cornelio has been charged with one count of Driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol. The charge follows his arrest in the early hours of Sunday 8th September 2024, when Response Team officers patrolling the area of Kingsway Road observed a locally registered vehicle with some signs of damage, swerve into the middle of the road and then stall on two occasions.

The driver’s demeanour suggested he was under the influence of alcohol, which, together with the manner of driving, resulted in him being arrested and conveyed to New Mole House. The resuilt of an evidential breath test conducted at New Mole House confirmed the driver was just under double the prescribed legal limit of alcohol in breath. 

He was subsequently charged with the offence and will be appearing before the Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9th September 2024.
