In connection with this year’s National Day Political Rally at Casemates Square on Tuesday 10th September 2024, there will be a number of parking restrictions, temporary road closures and diversions in place, prior to and throughout the duration of the event.

There will also be temporary restrictions in relation to the securing of bicycles at Casemates Square and immediate vicinity, as directed by signage.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

• Loading/Unloading bay on Line Wall Road between Watergate House and Grand Battery House – parking will not be permitted between 9pm on Sunday 8th September and termination of festivities.

• Corral Road (either side of the Ocean restaurant) – parking will not be permitted between 9pm on Monday 9th September 2024 and termination of festivities.

• Waterport Roadway (eastbound opposite Watergardens) to temporarily accommodate Market Place bus terminal and Casemates Hill taxi-rank Parking will not be permitted between 9pm on Monday 9th September and termination of festivities.

ROAD CLOSURES / DIVERSIONS(1030am Tuesday 10th September until further notice)

• Access to Corral Road will be closed at its junction with Fish Market Road/Waterport and also by the entrance to Landport Ditch car-park. Access will be possible to Landport Ditch car-park via Corral Road from Winston Churchill Avenue and Smith Dorrien Avenue.

• Casemates Hill will be closed to all vehicles at its junction with Line Wall Road.

• Fish Market Road will be closed at its junction with Irish Town / Cooperage Lane.

Note: Line Wall Road and Fish Market Road (access to Ocean Heights & Chatham Counterguard) will remain open to traffic throughout the day.

MARKET PLACE BUS TERMINUS & CASEMATES HILL TAXI-RANK

Both these services will be temporarily relocated to Waterport Roadway (eastbound carriageway) opposite Watergardens.
