Ceremony of the Keys Traffic Plan

A number of minor road closures and parking restrictions will be taking place ahead of and during tomorrow’s Ceremony of the Keys parade.

The event is a re-enactment of a procedure which took place each evening during the Great Siege and for the following 140 years.

Organised by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment and supported by the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, the event starts at 7pm in Casemates Square.

Teams of RGP officers will be policing the event and the force’s Roads Policing Unit will be implementing the minor traffic changes, which members of the public and motorists should take note of.

Parking Restrictions

• From midnight tonight (Wednesday 2 October) there will be no parking allowed on King’s Lines Road and in a handful of car parking spaces nearest to the stairs in Landport Ditch Car Park.

• There will also be no parking on Waterport Road eastbound on Thursday 3 October between 2pm and 8pm, where a temporary bus and taxi point will be located.

• E-Scooter and bicycle users are forbidden from leaving their vehicles in and around Casemates Square and in the area of West Place of Arms from midnight on Wednesday 2nd October until the end of the ceremony. Signs are already in place and RGP officers will be removing any offending bicycles and E-Scooters.
