Uniformed officers of the Operations Division investigating a burglary at the Lounge Gastro Bar, arrested 19 year old local male, Jamil Medhurst yesterday afternoon.

The Burglary took place in the early hours of 2nd June 2018. An amount of money of just under £200 was taken. However, in the process of gaining entry into the premises, damage estimated to exceed £1,000 is said to have been caused to a security shutter.

Medhurst handed himself in at NMH yesterday afternoon after learning that he was being sought by police in relation to the burglary, after having been identified as the suspect. Medhurst was arrested and subsequently interviewed. He was later charged with 1x count of Burglary.

Police Bail was declined and he has been detained at NMH pending his appearance before the Magistrates’ Court this morning, Wednesday 6th June 2018.
