Robert Harris, 66, a UK national, has been fined £800 after pleading guilty to riding a bicycle whilst over the drink drive limit.
The court heard that, at around 1930hrs on Sunday 17 February of this year, a motorcyclist was approaching the Evacuation Roundabout, travelling in an easterly direction. As he reached the roundabout, he collided with Harris who was riding his bicycle against the flow of traffic. Neither Harris nor the motorcyclist sustained any injuries from the collision.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they detected the smell of alcohol on Harris, whose eyes were glazed.
In a roadside test, he blew 51ug so he was arrested and taken to New Mole House where he blew 43ug on the evidential machine.
