A local teenager was reported for Dangerous Riding after a Road Traffic Collision in the Dudley Ward Way tunnel last night.

The incident was reported to the police Control Room at 2145 after a motorcycle collided with a car in the northern end of the tunnel.

The 18-year-old allegedly lost control of his motorcycle due to excess speed, whilst heading north through the tunnel. 

The teenager (who had a learner's licence and was not allowed to carry a passenger) and his pillion passenger were thrown from the motorcycle, which then slid into an oncoming vehicle heading south.  

Both rider and passenger on the motorcycle sustained minor injuries and were seen by an ambulance crew. Extensive damage was caused to the motorcycle, which is beyond repair. The car also received extensive damage.
