At about 2000hrs yesterday evening 27 year old Julian Holgado was arrested by Drug Squad officers for being in possession of controlled drugs.

The officers had deployed to the area of Arengo’s Palace following reports of suspicious activity relating to the consumption of drugs. Once in situ the officers’ attention was drawn to Holgado, who on being approached by the officers engaged in a brief struggle with them. Once restrained, he was searched and found to be in possession of approximately 750gms of Cannabis Resin.

Holgado was arrested by the officers and conveyed to New Mole House Police Station where he was subsequently interviewed under caution.

He was later charged with:
1x count of Possession of a Controlled drug, and,
1x count of Possession of a Controlled Drug with Intent to Supply.

Holgado was refused bail and was detained in Police custody pending his appearance before the Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26th June.
