A number of individuals were arrested during the course of yesterday by uniformed officers of the Area Response Teams of the Operations Division for drugs related offences.

Just after 1400hrs, officers patrolling the area of Castle Steps arrested two 19 year old males, who after drawing the officers’ attention were stopped and searched. One of the individuals, a local British national was found to be in possession of approximately 12.7gms of Cannabis Resin, whilst the other, a locally resident Spanish national, was found to be in possession of a just over 90gms of Cannabis Resin. Both individuals were conveyed to NMH and were later granted Police bail.

At about 1430hrs, in an unconnected incident, a 22 year old local man was arrested at Governor’s Street for being in possession of approximately 2.5gms of Cannabis Resin. The arrest came about after he was observed by officers rolling what appeared to be a reefer. He was conveyed to NMH where he too was granted bailed in respect to the drugs offence.
