At around 1130pm last night (Monday 18 September 2023), a local man, 23, was arrested at a residence in the Moorish Castle Estate, on suspicion of Common Assault, Intentional Harassment, Alarm or Distress, Threats to Kill, Improper Use of Public Electronic Communications, Fear or Provocation of Violence, Controlling or Coercive Behaviour in an Intimate or Family Relationship, Possession of a Controlled Class B Drug (Cannabis), Possession of Radio Communications Apparatus Intended for use without a Licence and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (pepper spray). 

His arrest came following a report from an ex-partner that he had allegedly threatened to kill her and threatened her and others close to her with violence, and, had been harassing her since she ended their relationship recently. 

An investigation is ongoing.
