A local man will appear before the Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (Thursday 27 February) after being charged with a number of offences including Rape.
Following an investigation by detectives from the RGP’s Crime Division, Richard John Valarino, 33, of Witham’s Road, was charged with Rape, three counts of Assault by Penetration, three counts of Common Assault, Controlling or Coercive Behaviour in an Intimate or Family Relationship and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Class B Drug.
Officers arrested Valarino at his address in the early hours of 29 December 2024, following a number of serious allegations.
The charges relate to incidents reported to have taken place between July 2023 and December 2024.
