Two local people are set to appear before the Supreme Court following investigations by the RGP’s Domestic Abuse Team.
In the first case, Ravi Viroomal, 43, of the Watergardens, was yesterday (27 January) charged with Controlling or Coercive Behaviour in an Intimate or Family Relationship and Common Assault.
Viroomal appeared before Magistrates’ Court this morning (28 January), where his case was committed to the Supreme Court on the 19th of March 2025.
In a second, separate case, Orianne Podesta, 23, of the Laguna Estate, was yesterday (27 January) charged one count of Controlling or Coercive Behaviour in an Intimate or Family Relationship, False Imprisonment, Theft, two counts of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and two counts of Destroying or Damaging Property.
Podesta will appear before the Supreme Court on the 19th March 2025.
