BURGLARY ARRESTS

On Friday 24th August 2018, following an investigation by detectives into burglaries carried out that same date at Jury’s Café and Wine Bar and Government of Gibraltar offices located at New Harbours, officers arrested 21-year-old local male Kyle LOPEZ and two local juvenile males, aged 14 and 16 years old, on suspicion of burglary.

The three males were conveyed to New Mole House where they were interviewed under caution before being jointly charged as follows:

1. One count of burglary each in respect of Jury’s Café and Wine Bar located at Main Street;
2. One count of burglary each in respect of The Department of Employment located at New Harbours;
3. One count of burglary each in respect of The Ministry for Economic Development, Telecommunications and the GSB located at New Harbours;
4. One count of burglary each in respect of The Housing Department located at New Harbours.

All three males were denied bail and have been detained in police custody pending their appearance before the Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28th August 2018.
