Four Spanish nationals were arrested yesterday afternoon by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Department.
At about 1600hrs yesterday afternoon, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department acting on intelligence arrested four male Spanish nationals on suspicion of the attempted theft of copper piping. The men, aged between 56 and 38 years and resident in Spain, were all arrested at Sir Herbert Miles Road in the area of the Motorcycle club. At the time of their arrest one individual was sat waiting in a Spanish registered car, whilst the other three individuals were located within a disused tunnel in the area. The men were found in possession of ladders, ropes, an electrical generator and cutting tools.
All four men were subsequently conveyed to New Mole House where they were processed and interviewed by the detectives. They were all granted Police bail later that evening, whilst enquiries continue.
