Moroccan national Rachid Behdaoui 53, was extradited to the Spanish authorities at the frontier earlier today in the execution of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Provincial High Court of Valencia, Spain.
He was wanted in Spain in connection with the offence of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and a second charge of conspiracy to commit robbery with violence in inhabited premises.
RGP officers escorted Behdaoui to the border where he was handed over to the Policía Nacional.
The Moroccan national will be appearing before the Spanish tribunal in the week of June 12 2019.
This latest extradition underlines the RGP’s continuing commitment to cross-border law enforcement cooperation and reflects recent public statements by the Commissioner of Police that Gibraltar “will not be a safe haven for crime.”
