One of our officers is swapping his police boots for basketball trainers to represent Gibraltar in an international competition this week.

Detective Constable Callum Culross is set to join his 11 team mates in the Gibraltar Senior Men’s Basketball team when they take on rivals Malta tonight. 

And for Callum, who is 6.4ft tall and works in the Royal Gibraltar Police’s Domestic Abuse Team, this will be his first international tournament. 

In total, 5 teams are taking part in the FIBA European Championships for Small Countries; Gibraltar, Malta, Andorra, San Marino and Ireland. 

An RGP spokesman, said: “We’d like to wish Callum and the Gibraltar basketball team the best of luck tonight in their first game.”
