RGP Officers Pass Investigation Course

A number of Royal Gibraltar Police officers have successfully passed a Senior Investigating Officer course at New Mole House this month.

The two-week course was taught by two former Senior Investigating Officers from the UK – Paul Burgan and Mike Jones.

Among those on the course were RGP Sergeants, Inspectors, Chief Inspectors and Superintendents.

The course, which meets UK national policing guidelines, focused on a number of areas including covert policing, forensic consideration, scene management, major crime investigation and included several practical exercises and assessments.

Chief Inspector Dylan Quigley, who oversees the RGP’s Recruitment, Training and Performance Department, helped organise the training, which followed a similar course that was delivered to RGP detectives last September.

He said: “This course will no doubt help our senior investigating officers when managing complex, major and serious crime investigations, which will of course, help to keep Gibraltar safe.”
